Sometimes “recovery” seems complicated. Contradictory tips to figure out new recipes to learn, special ingredients to buy – and the list goes on. But some health hacks have been around for a long time … and are probably already in our kitchens!
Is there cinnamon near you? Or a little cayenne pepper? These ancient spices can turn a simple meal (or drink) into a delicious, fat-burning one.
Get lean (and healthy!) With ancient spices
I’m not a great cook, though I never miss an opportunity to use herbs and spices in my kitchenas for the amazing fragrance and proven health benefits. This is an exciting way to cook!
My guest Nagina Abdullah also swears by spices. After years of struggling to lose weight and feeling just confused, Nagina thought you could add it to your diet instead of picking it up. She especially started adding spices known for their anti-inflammatory and boosting metabolism … and everything changed.
Soon she was losing weight and began to enjoy the food! In fact, this mother of two lost 40 pounds with her new use of ancient spices.
Natural recipe for Bending for fat burning … Fast!
Inspired, Nagina created MasalaBody.com, a weight loss training program that is now featured on People.com, Business Insider, Huffington Post and Fox News. Because she herself worked more than 60 hours a week, she designed the system according to the lifestyle of busy moms, professionals and entrepreneurs. (Basically, people who don’t have time to mess around!)
There are many weight loss systems that I would not approve of, but her concept of a real diet with food + pinch of spice rings is true. It is available to everyone and helps us eat the way nature intended.
In this episode you will learn:
- Nagina’s story is about fighting weight, especially after children

This podcast is presented to you Kettle and decoction of fire bones. If you love the benefits of bone broth but don’t like the time it takes to prepare it, and how hard it is to find quality bones to make it, a kettle and fire for you! They have their first herbal food (and with grass) non-perishable bone broth, and it’s an a-maze! You can find them in many foods on the West Coast as well order online from here.
Their bone broth is a common product in my kitchen these days, and it’s with it that I’ve created recipes in my new e-book from bone broth (coming out later this year).
This podcast is also presented to you The market is flourishing. If you live in a true food desert like me, it can be difficult to find certain organic foods, specialty foods or foods that do not cause allergies. Thrive Market is my solution to this problem. They carry thousands of products that don’t spoil quickly, which I often consume at discounted prices. I think of them as a combination of Costco, Amazon and Whole Foods. They are online, like Amazon, have an annual membership fee to unlock discounts such as Costco, and carry high quality products such as Whole Foods.
I regularly order from them and highly recommend. Check out all their products and grab a free jar of coconut oil here.
