You’ve eaten an emerald green matcha latte, a vibrant golden turmeric latte … why not try a charcoal black latte?
Activated charcoal is a trendy ingredient you see in coffee drinks, ice cream, and even specialty cocktails all over town. Charcoal adds a mysterious dark hue to everything it touches, but there are reasons people seek charcoal that go beyond pictures.
Some people keep activated charcoal on hand for occasional bouts of digestive upset, and in some people it has a reputation for relieving bloating. Others are looking for its detoxifying effect, claiming to notice a difference in their skin clarity.
Charcoal, nutrients and drugs
When consuming charcoal, it is very important to take it away from food and vitamins and stay hydrated. If you are taking medications, ask your doctor to consume charcoal, as charcoal may decrease the effect of some medications.
What does activated charcoal taste like?
You may wonder if opening an activated charcoal capsule in your milk will make it look like your backyard barbecue. Rest assured, it’s not like that. Activated charcoal doesn’t add much flavor and certainly doesn’t have a burnt flavor, as you might expect.
This is great news for this activated charcoal milk. You will taste a welcoming vanilla and a creamy and frothy, slightly sweetened milk. And who knows, your skin may take on a glow afterward.
Let’s do one.
